The pierced egg seems to have slid down the shank to find a perfectly balanced resting place.  Its beautiful birds eye sides gleam with the assurance that despite appearances to the contrary this piece of pipe sculpture will sit comfortably until its fortunate owner puts it to the use for which it is intended.
